Hey everyone,

This is my first trip report I'm writing up. Not sure if there are protocols or best practice for writing up a trip, but here we go. We had 5 of us at La Carara with Randall as our guide for Feb 3 and 4th. We went on multiple trails in La Carara National Park and also did the boat tour one afternoon.

We saw at least 120 species in a day and a half. I got 11 new species. A new member got lots more and she LOVED her first birding trip with the group!

Aside from birds, there were numerous large old trees, one of which was 600 years old. We saw mammal species, including a peccary. Some of the highlights for birds were seeing:

- Black-Faced Antthrush

- Great Tinamou

- Collared Forest Falcon
